Can vaginal muscle strengthening affect cervical position?

Vaginal muscle strengthening—especially of the pelvic floor—can provide better support to the uterus and cervix, but does not usually cause significant or permanent changes in cervical position. In women with mild prolapse, symptoms may improve with stronger muscles.

Clinical Context

Women with prolapse or a low-lying cervix may experience less bulging and improved comfort after pelvic floor training.

Evidence-Based Approaches

The RCOG and NHS recommend pelvic floor rehabilitation as first-line therapy for mild pelvic organ support issues.
