What does vaginal rejuvenation mean?
Vaginal rejuvenation is an umbrella term for medical, non-surgical, injectable, regenerative and surgical approaches that may be considered when changes affect the comfort, function, sensation or appearance of the vaginal and vulval area.
It is not one fixed procedure and it should not replace diagnosis. The most appropriate next step depends on what has changed, the likely cause, the anatomy involved, your medical background and what you hope to improve.
A category, not one procedure
The term can include conservative care, menopause or GSM treatment, pelvic floor support, energy-based procedures, injectable or regenerative options, and surgery where structural change is the main concern.
This page helps you compare those broad pathways. A consultation is used to decide which, if any, deserves more detailed consideration.
Vagina, vulva and pelvic support
The vagina is the internal canal. The vulva is the external intimate area, including the labia, clitoris and vaginal opening. Pelvic floor and perineal support can also influence symptoms after childbirth, menopause or ageing.
Some concerns are mainly internal, some are external, some relate to support or function, and some involve more than one area.
What this page compares
This is the broad comparison page for vaginal rejuvenation options. Detailed method pages retain their own focus, including our CO₂ intimate rejuvenation pathway and the dedicated laser vaginal tightening page.
Symptoms such as vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, laxity, urinary leakage or menopause-related change also have dedicated assessment and treatment pages where more specific guidance is needed.
The balanced way to think about vaginal rejuvenation
Vaginal rejuvenation should never be treated as a promise of perfection or as a substitute for proper medical assessment. Dryness, pain, laxity, urinary leakage, reduced sensation, tissue change and appearance concerns can have different causes and may need different types of care.
You’re not imagining it. And you do not have to just live with it.
Many women know something has changed before they know how to explain it. You can start with everyday language rather than a diagnosis or treatment name.
It is worth mentioning. We will listen, take it seriously and help you understand whether the next step should be medical assessment, conservative care, a non-surgical option or a surgical opinion.
No obligation. No pressure. Just a confidential first step.
What women often tell us
You do not need polished words. Your own words are enough.
“Things just feel different since having the baby. Less comfortable. Less like me.”
“The dryness is affecting everything. I feel embarrassed talking about it.”
“I did not expect to feel this way already.”
“I just want to know what is normal and what I can actually do about it.”
Women often get in touch because of one or several of these
You do not need to decide which category this fits into. That is what the consultation is for.
What happens after you enquire?
The first step is a private conversation, not a treatment commitment.
1. We contact you discreetly
We use the details you provide and keep your enquiry confidential. You can ask questions before deciding whether to arrange a nurse or doctor consultation.
2. You describe what has changed
You can use your own words. You do not need a diagnosis, medical terminology or a treatment name before asking for help.
3. We guide the next step
If consultation, examination, investigation, conservative care, treatment or independent surgical referral may be appropriate, we explain this before you decide.
Examination reassurance
Will I need an examination?
Not always. If a face-to-face assessment or examination is recommended, we explain why first. Nothing happens without your consent and you remain in control throughout your appointment.
If your symptoms suggest something that needs medical investigation rather than a rejuvenation treatment, we will explain that and guide you towards the most appropriate next step.
Your consultation options
Start with the level of support you need
We offer a free nurse telephone consultation. We also recommend a paid doctor telephone consultation when you want a more detailed clinical review of your symptoms, medical background and possible treatment pathways.
A telephone consultation does not commit you to treatment. Where needed, a face-to-face consultation, examination or further investigation is arranged before treatment suitability is confirmed.

Who may consider vaginal rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation is a broad area of care rather than one treatment for one type of woman. Suitability depends on what has changed, the likely cause, your anatomy, medical history and goals.
After pregnancy and childbirth
Women may notice looseness, reduced sensation, discomfort, dryness, altered confidence or mild stress urinary leakage after vaginal birth, tearing, episiotomy, prolonged labour or more than one delivery.
During perimenopause or after menopause
Hormonal change can affect the vulva, vagina, bladder and urethra. Dryness, burning, irritation, painful sex, reduced lubrication and urinary symptoms may sit within genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).
Comfort, sensation or intimacy concerns
Some women seek help because intimacy feels different, daily comfort has changed, exercise or fitted clothing feels less comfortable, or sensation and confidence are no longer what they were.
External appearance or volume concerns
Others are mainly concerned about visible tissue change, labial volume loss, deflation, asymmetry or appearance where this affects comfort, clothing choice, self-image or intimate confidence.
Concerns that need clinical assessment before choosing a method
Not every intimate concern should be treated as “rejuvenation”. Symptoms may need diagnosis, examination, investigation or treatment of another condition first.
Concerns women commonly ask us to assess
These terms describe concerns, not a diagnosis or a promise that a rejuvenation procedure is appropriate. Several may overlap, and the same symptom can have more than one cause.
Treatment planning may also overlap with vulval skin health, menopause-related changes, pelvic floor function and regenerative support. Assessment helps identify the correct owner pathway rather than treating every concern as the same problem.
Assessment or investigation should come first where there is:
This list is not exhaustive. Tell the clinician about any new, severe, persistent or unexplained symptom before considering treatment.
Vaginal laxity
Assessment of looseness, postpartum change and possible pelvic support or structural factors.
Vaginal dryness
Dryness may relate to hormones, GSM, medicines, irritation, skin conditions or other causes.
Vaginal atrophy and GSM
Menopause-related changes may affect the vulva, vagina, bladder and urethra together.
Painful intercourse
Pain needs cause-led assessment rather than an assumption that rejuvenation treatment is appropriate.
Urinary leakage
Stress, urgency and mixed symptoms may need different assessment and management pathways.
Reduced sexual sensation
Sensation concerns may involve anatomy, comfort, hormones, pelvic floor function or wider sexual health factors.
Why women consider vaginal rejuvenation
The reason is not always purely medical or purely aesthetic. Women may be looking for help with function, comfort, sensation, appearance, confidence or several of these together.
Functional and comfort reasons
Dryness, friction, pain, reduced support, laxity, mild leakage or discomfort during exercise and intimacy may affect everyday life and relationships.
Appearance and volume reasons
External tissue change, labial deflation, asymmetry or a change in appearance may affect clothing comfort, self-image or confidence in intimate situations.
Emotional and confidence reasons
Many women feel embarrassed raising intimate changes. Understanding what is normal, what may help and what cannot be promised can itself restore confidence and control.
What women may hope to improve
The realistic objective depends on the method selected and the underlying cause. No treatment can promise every benefit, and results vary from person to person.
How to compare vaginal rejuvenation options safely
A useful comparison starts with the concern and likely cause, then considers the objective, evidence, invasiveness, recovery, reversibility and follow-up.
Concern and likely cause
Dryness, pain, laxity, leakage, reduced sensation and external volume change can have different causes. A treatment name should not come before understanding the problem.
Objective and evidence
Ask what the method is intended to change and what evidence supports that objective. Evidence for one method must not be applied to every treatment in the category.
Invasiveness and recovery
Conservative care, laser, injectables and surgery have very different recovery profiles. Consider discomfort, restrictions, possible complications and time before normal activities.
Follow-up and maintenance
Some methods are reviewed after one treatment, some may involve a course, and some require longer surgical follow-up. Maintenance is method-specific rather than a category-wide rule.
Questions worth asking
Before choosing a method, ask what it is intended to achieve
What diagnosis or likely cause is being treated?
What evidence relates to this exact method and goal?
What are the realistic benefits and limitations?
What are the risks, recovery and alternatives?
Is the effect expected to be temporary or long-term?
Who provides treatment and who manages follow-up?
How vaginal rejuvenation options are compared
Different approaches have different purposes, levels of invasiveness, evidence bases, recovery needs and follow-up. The aim is to match the method to the concern rather than start with a preferred procedure.
Medical and conservative care
Diagnosis and foundations first
Vaginal moisturisers, lubricants, menopause or GSM care, treatment for infection or skin conditions, pelvic floor support and conservative symptom management may be the most appropriate first step.
Energy-based procedures
CO₂ laser and vaginal laser treatment
Energy-based treatment may be discussed for selected concerns involving tissue quality, dryness, comfort, laxity or mild urinary symptoms. Nu-V is WHC’s non-surgical CO₂ laser pathway.
Injectable and regenerative options
PRP, fillers, polynucleotides and selected exosome approaches
These treatments have different objectives. They may be discussed for selected goals involving comfort, lubrication, sensation, hydration, tissue quality or external volume, depending on anatomy and suitability.
Surgical assessment
Independent specialist surgical pathways
Surgery may be more appropriate where structural change, significant laxity, labial concerns or perineal change cannot reasonably be addressed by non-surgical treatment. WHC can refer suitable patients to independent specialist practitioners.
Which page should you read next?
This page compares the category; detailed pages explain individual methods and conditions
This is the generic vaginal rejuvenation and non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation comparison page. It does not replace the dedicated pages that own CO₂ treatment, general vaginal laser or tightening searches, or diagnosis-led symptom pathways.
CO₂ intimate rejuvenation
Method-specific CO₂ treatment, procedure, evidence, suitability and aftercare.
Laser vaginal tightening
The general laser and tightening owner where that is the specific treatment being researched.
Condition-led assessment
Dryness, pain, laxity, leakage, GSM and sensation concerns each have their own assessment pathway.
Method snapshots
Treatment options under the vaginal rejuvenation umbrella
These are not interchangeable treatments. Each has its own purpose, suitability criteria, limitations, risks and detailed owner page.
Nu-V non-surgical CO₂ laser treatment
A non-surgical energy-based option considered for selected concerns involving tissue quality, dryness, comfort, laxity and mild stress urinary leakage. Treatment is performed in clinic, usually takes around 15 minutes and may include internal and external treatment according to the agreed plan.
O-Shot
A platelet-rich plasma treatment prepared from your own blood and considered where regenerative support, comfort, lubrication or sensation forms part of the treatment goal.
G-Shot
A targeted injectable option that may be discussed when sexual comfort or sensation is the principal concern. Suitability depends on anatomy, goals and realistic expectations.
Vaginal filler
Vaginal filler may be considered where hydration, tissue support or targeted internal volume is part of the treatment objective. Suitability depends on anatomy, symptoms and the intended benefit.
Labial filler
Labial filler may be considered where external volume loss, deflation or visible tissue change affects comfort, clothing choice, appearance or intimate confidence.
Polynucleotide vaginal injectables
Polynucleotides may be discussed where tissue quality, hydration and regenerative support are part of the clinical picture. Their role and evidence should be considered separately from laser or surgery.
Selected exosome-based regenerative approaches
Selected exosome-based approaches may be considered within a wider regenerative plan. Suitability, product pathway, evidence and intended objective are reviewed at assessment.
Surgical vaginal rejuvenation
Where structural change is the principal concern, WHC may refer to independent specialist practitioners for procedures such as vaginoplasty, labiaplasty or perineoplasty.
Supportive medical and conservative care
Moisturisers, lubricants, pelvic floor support, menopause care, treatment for GSM or another diagnosed condition may be more appropriate than a rejuvenation procedure.
Nu-V method snapshot
What the Nu-V procedure involves
Nu-V is WHC’s non-surgical CO₂ laser pathway. It is a short in-clinic procedure, typically around 15 minutes, and may include internal vaginal tissue and the external intimate area depending on the agreed treatment plan.
There are no surgical incisions and no surgical recovery in the way there would be with vaginoplasty, labiaplasty or perineoplasty.
Aftercare
Restrictions are explained before treatment
Following Nu-V, women are usually advised to observe a short aftercare period, which may include avoiding intercourse and heavy lifting for a few days.
Written guidance is based on the treatment performed, your assessment and the clinician’s advice.
Read full CO₂ procedure detailsRisks, recovery and realistic outcomes vary by method
There is no category-wide promise for vaginal rejuvenation. Benefits, limitations, complications, recovery and duration must be discussed for the exact treatment being considered.
Medical and conservative care
The aim is to manage the underlying cause or symptom with the least invasive appropriate option. Response depends on diagnosis, adherence and whether the selected care matches the cause.
CO₂ laser and energy-based treatment
Possible effects, restrictions and risks are method-specific. Temporary irritation, swelling, spotting or discharge may occur; infection, burns, scarring, pain or incomplete improvement are less common but important consent considerations.
Injectable and regenerative treatment
Risks depend on the product, injection site and intended objective. These may include pain, bruising, swelling, infection, asymmetry, lumps, vascular complications, incomplete effect or the need for further treatment.
Surgical treatment
Surgery involves incisions, healing and a longer recovery. The independent surgeon will explain procedure-specific risks such as bleeding, infection, wound problems, scarring, altered sensation, pain, asymmetry, dissatisfaction or the need for revision.
When might results be noticed?
Some effects may be noticed early; others develop gradually. Timing depends entirely on the method and intended objective.
How long might results last?
Duration depends on the treatment, hormonal background, tissue quality, ongoing ageing, future childbirth and other individual factors.
Is maintenance always needed?
No. Maintenance or repeat treatment should only be discussed where relevant to the selected method and your response.
Results vary. No treatment can guarantee a particular functional, sexual, aesthetic or quality-of-life outcome.
Surgical vaginal rejuvenation
When an independent surgical opinion may be more appropriate
WHC provides its core non-surgical pathways in-house. Where structural change is the main concern, we can refer suitable patients to independent specialist practitioners for their own surgical assessment.
Vaginoplasty
May be considered where there is more significant vaginal laxity or structural change, particularly after childbirth or over time.
Labiaplasty
May be relevant where labial size, asymmetry, irritation, clothing discomfort or external appearance has a functional or confidence impact.
Perineoplasty
May be appropriate where childbirth, tearing, episiotomy or perineal change has affected support, comfort or the vaginal opening.
Also discussed in selected cases
The appropriate procedure, or combination of procedures, depends on anatomy, symptoms, goals and the independent surgeon’s assessment.
How the referral works
We can discuss whether the concern appears more suitable for a non-surgical WHC pathway or an independent surgical opinion.
Independent practitioners undertake their own consultation, consent, clinical decisions, procedure and aftercare. WHC does not push surgery where a non-surgical or conservative route is more appropriate.
What does the clinical evidence say about CO₂ laser treatment?
Where non-surgical care is the right fit, published research has examined CO₂ laser treatment for concerns including vaginal laxity, dryness and stress urinary incontinence.
These figures relate specifically to the reviewed CO₂ laser evidence. They do not describe every vaginal rejuvenation method and do not guarantee an individual outcome.
77 studies reviewed
A literature review in Urology Times assessed 77 studies.
Over 5,000 patients
The evidence base reviewed covered more than 5,000 patients.
93.5% positive outcomes
Positive outcomes were reported across laxity, dryness and stress urinary incontinence.
What this means in practice
Our Nu-V technology has been in clinical use since 2016 with an exemplary safety record. Evidence is important, but the right choice still depends on the woman, the concern and whether CO₂ laser treatment is genuinely the right fit.
Read the full CO₂ treatment pageResearch findings and published summaries should be interpreted alongside study design, patient selection and individual clinical assessment.
About The Women’s Health Clinic
The Women’s Health Clinic was built around the idea that women should be able to talk openly about intimate health without shame, embarrassment, or dismissal. Our role on this page is to help women compare the broad vaginal rejuvenation pathways before choosing a specific method.
Women-friendly, respectful care
We understand that many women arrive feeling uncertain, nervous, or even guilty for raising these concerns at all.
A clear and compassionate approach
Our role is to listen carefully, assess properly, and explain options clearly. That includes discussing what may help, what may not help, and when another pathway may be more appropriate.
Why women choose TWHC
Experience across non-surgical care
Nu-V was developed from a determination to create a non-surgical option for women experiencing intimate changes linked to childbirth, ageing, and menopause. That experience now sits within a wider assessment-led pathway that also considers medical, conservative, injectable, regenerative and independent surgical options where appropriate.

Consultation route
A free nurse telephone consultation is available as an initial confidential conversation. We normally recommend a paid doctor telephone consultation before treatment so that symptoms, goals, medical history, suitability and the most appropriate pathway can be reviewed.
The relevant consultation fee and what it includes are confirmed before booking.
Why some women choose a package
A single session may suit women who want to begin with one treatment and review progress. A triple package may be more suitable where a more structured course is recommended.
Other methods, finance and planning
Because concerns can overlap, treatment planning should be individual rather than one-size-fits-all. Prices for injectables, regenerative treatments and independent surgical consultations depend on the chosen pathway and are explained before you decide whether to proceed. Nu-V prices shown on this page were reviewed in July 2026.
Reviews
How other women often describe the experience
Women looking at vaginal rejuvenation often want to know the same thing: “How do other women feel afterwards?”
While every experience is individual, common themes in patient feedback often include feeling listened to, appreciating clear explanations, feeling less embarrassed than expected, improved confidence, and feeling supported throughout the process.
A good treatment journey is not only about the procedure. It is also about being treated with sensitivity, honesty, and respect from the first conversation onwards.
Women often value clarity rather than pressure. Understanding what may help, what may not help, and what is realistic makes the whole process feel calmer and more informed.
Common themes include improved confidence, feeling more comfortable discussing intimate symptoms, and feeling supported throughout the process.
Patient stories
Real experiences, without a second repeated pathway
Women may arrive after childbirth, during menopause, because intimacy or comfort feels different, or because a structural concern has affected confidence. Their next step is not automatically a procedure: it is a private conversation, appropriate assessment and a clear explanation of the options that genuinely fit.
Hear women describe their concerns
The video gallery includes patient experiences, case discussions and media features covering intimate health, vaginal rejuvenation and regenerative care.
Read independent patient feedback
Reviews commonly describe feeling listened to, receiving clear explanations and finding the conversation less embarrassing than expected. Individual treatment outcomes vary.
Choose only after assessment
A tailored plan may include conservative or menopause care, Nu-V or another energy-based option, injectable or regenerative treatment, pelvic floor support, further investigation or referral for an independent surgical opinion.
Vaginal rejuvenation FAQs
Category-level answers are kept here. Method-specific detail is linked to the relevant treatment or condition owner page.
1. What is vaginal rejuvenation?
Vaginal rejuvenation is an umbrella term rather than one procedure. It may include medical or conservative care, energy-based treatments, injectable or regenerative options and, for selected structural concerns, independent surgical assessment. The appropriate route depends on the symptom, likely cause, anatomy, goals and clinical assessment.
2. Is vaginal rejuvenation surgical?
Not always. Many vaginal rejuvenation pathways are non-surgical. Surgery may be considered where structural change is the main concern or where a non-surgical option is unlikely to achieve the intended objective.
3. Do you offer surgical vaginal rejuvenation?
WHC does not directly perform these operations within its core non-surgical service. Where appropriate, we can refer a patient to an independent specialist practitioner for their own consultation, consent, clinical decision, procedure and aftercare.
4. What is the difference between vaginoplasty, labiaplasty and perineoplasty?
Vaginoplasty is an internal vaginal procedure that may be considered for more significant laxity or structural change. Labiaplasty reshapes or reduces labial tissue where size, asymmetry, irritation, clothing discomfort or appearance is a concern. Perineoplasty addresses the perineal area around the vaginal opening, which may have changed after childbirth, tearing or episiotomy. An independent surgeon decides whether any procedure is appropriate.
5. How do I know whether I need surgery or a non-surgical treatment?
The decision starts with the concern and likely cause. Dryness, GSM-related change, tissue quality, mild laxity or comfort concerns may be approached medically, conservatively or non-surgically. More significant structural change may justify an independent surgical opinion. No method should be selected from a treatment name alone.
6. What is recovery like after surgical vaginal rejuvenation?
Recovery varies by procedure, extent of surgery and individual healing. It is longer and more restrictive than recovery after most non-surgical options. The independent surgeon explains expected downtime, wound care, activity restrictions, sexual abstinence, review arrangements and warning signs before consent.
7. Is there a reflection period before surgery?
A reflection period may form part of the independent surgical consent process. It allows time to consider the intended benefit, alternatives, risks, recovery and whether the procedure remains the right decision.
8. Will my care still begin at WHC if surgery may be the better option?
It can. WHC can first discuss the concern and whether a non-surgical pathway or independent surgical opinion appears more appropriate. The independent practitioner then undertakes their own assessment and accepts clinical responsibility for any surgical care they provide.
9. What is Nu-V?
Nu-V is WHC’s non-surgical CO₂ vaginal rejuvenation treatment. It uses an internal and, where indicated, external treatment approach. Detailed indications, evidence, risks, recovery and suitability are explained on the dedicated CO₂ intimate rejuvenation page.
10. How long does Nu-V take?
The treatment itself is typically short and may take around 15 minutes, although the appointment is longer because preparation, consent, assessment and aftercare explanation are also required.
11. What concerns can Nu-V be considered for?
Depending on assessment, CO₂ treatment may be discussed for selected concerns such as vaginal dryness, tissue change, laxity, comfort or mild stress urinary leakage. These symptoms can have different causes, so the dedicated CO₂ or condition page should be read alongside clinical assessment.
12. Is vaginal rejuvenation only for menopause?
No. Women may seek advice after childbirth, during perimenopause or menopause, after hormonal change, or because of comfort, sensation, tissue quality, urinary, volume, appearance or structural concerns.
13. Can vaginal rejuvenation help with dryness?
A vaginal rejuvenation method may form part of a plan for some women, but dryness is a symptom rather than a diagnosis. GSM, hormonal change, infection, irritation, vulval skin conditions, medication and other causes may require different care. Read the vaginal dryness assessment page.
14. What is the difference between the vagina and the vulva?
The vagina is the internal canal. The vulva is the external intimate area, including the labia, clitoris and vaginal opening. A concern may be internal, external or involve pelvic floor support, and this distinction affects which assessment or method may be relevant.
15. Do I need surgery?
Not necessarily. Many concerns are better managed medically, conservatively or with a non-surgical option. Surgery is not a default escalation step; it is considered where anatomy, structural change and the intended objective make an operation the more appropriate route.
16. What other treatments are available apart from Nu-V?
Depending on suitability, options may include vaginal moisturisers or lubricants, menopause or GSM care, pelvic floor support, O-Shot, G-Shot, vaginal or labial filler, polynucleotide injectables, selected exosome-based approaches and independent surgical assessment. Each option has a different purpose, evidence base, risk profile and recovery.
17. How much does Nu-V cost?
A single Nu-V treatment is £599, a triple package is £1,200 and an annual top-up is £400, as reviewed in July 2026. These prices relate to Nu-V only. Other methods and consultations are priced separately and confirmed before booking.
18. Is a consultation required?
Yes. A free nurse telephone consultation is available as an initial confidential conversation. We normally recommend a paid doctor telephone consultation before treatment so that the concern, medical background, suitability, alternatives, risks and next step can be reviewed. An examination or further investigation may also be recommended where clinically appropriate.
If something has changed, you do not need to identify the diagnosis or treatment before getting in touch. The first task is to understand the concern and choose the right assessment route.
