Can lichen sclerosus cause fertility problems?
Lichen sclerosus itself does not cause infertility. However, untreated or severe cases may cause scarring, which could rarely affect vaginal function or conception.
Detailed Medical Explanation
Most women with lichen sclerosus conceive normally. Rarely, significant vulval or vaginal scarring may cause discomfort or narrowing, affecting intercourse and, in theory, conception. Prompt treatment helps prevent these problems. See NHS and BAD.
