Can you use tampons during vaginal laser healing period?

Tampons should be avoided during the vaginal laser healing period—usually for at least 5–7 days—to prevent irritation, infection, and delayed healing.

Clinical Context

Use only external sanitary pads during healing, and resume tampons only when your clinician confirms recovery.

Evidence-Based Approaches

NICE and RCOG recommend avoiding internal products during the immediate healing phase after vaginal procedures. See BNF Menopause and NICE guidance.
