Bowel and bladder symptoms may be discussed in separate appointments, yet patients can experience them together. Sharing the complete pattern may help a clinician understand functional impact and decide which questions or assessments are relevant.
Keep a short diary of fluids, meals, medicines, periods, bowel movements, urinary frequency, leakage, pain and emptying difficulties. Include pelvic heaviness, bleeding or discomfort if present.
An overlap does not prove one cause, and the right service varies with the clinical picture. Ask who will coordinate follow-up if more than one specialty may be involved.
