What is a well women check?
A comprehensive women’s health MOT, a well woman check is one of the most important preventative healthcare measures a woman can take, designed to provide peace of mind and reassurance at any stage of life. It can detect health issues early and is ideal for women who would like a deeper insight into their health.
Your well woman check will be conducted by a gynaecological nurse with the chance to discuss any further concerns with a female gynaecologist. There are many reasons you may want to consider book a well woman check with us, these may include:
Irregular periods. Unexplained weight gain, Abnormal discharge, Abnormal bleeding, Unexplained insomnia or anxiety, Persistent lower abdominal pain, Recurrent thrush, Recurrent bacterial vaginosis, Recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI), Signs of polycystic ovaries syndrome (PCOS)
Our approach
At The Women’s Health Clinic, we offer an hours consultation with a specialist nurse to cover areas of female health. You will also be given the opportunity to have an in-depth conversation with your nurse with any questions or concerns you may have. This review plays an important role in healthcare management. Our well woman packages can offer extensive overview of your health. If any imbalances, deficiencies or concerns are pinpointed, we can signpost you to a female gynaecologist to explore your options. In addition to this, The Women’s Health Clinic takes a more holistic approach where we encourage our patients to discuss any issues in a relaxed and open environment.
Who are we?
Here at The Women’s Health Clinic we believe every woman deserves the time to not only talk about her symptoms and understand why it’s happening but also take the time to explore all available options.
Why choose TWHC?
Due to longer life expectancy, women are now spending a third of their lifespan postmenopausal and so managing the menopause is becoming an increasing part of women’s health. With the NHS at crisis point and GP’s increasing overstretched, a 7-10 minute appointment is not enough to thoroughly discuss the many symptoms you many be experiencing due to the menopause, and how they impact on your day to day life and relationships. At TWHC, you will have the opportunity to speak to a specialist nurse for up to 45 minutes.
What can I expect?
Our objective is to give woman the opportunity to take charge of their health and bodies. No one should sit in silence if they are worried about any symptoms or changes. Our Well Woman Check gives patients a chance to sit down with a specialist nurse to go through extensive checks and diagnostics.
You can decide to choose between our essential or advanced package. Any diagnostics will take 5-7 working days for results to arrive. Our nurse will call you to discuss them in greater detail and explore any necessary steps needed.
