What is a well women check?
A comprehensive women’s health MOT, a well woman check is one of the most important preventative healthcare measures a woman can take, designed to provide peace of mind and reassurance at any stage of life. It can detect health issues early and is ideal for women who would like a deeper insight into their health.
Your well woman check will be conducted by a gynaecological nurse with the chance to discuss any further concerns with a female gynaecologist. There are many reasons you may want to consider book a well woman check with us, these may include:
Irregular periods. Unexplained weight gain, Abnormal discharge, Abnormal bleeding, Unexplained insomnia or anxiety, Persistent lower abdominal pain, Recurrent thrush, Recurrent bacterial vaginosis, Recurrent urinary tract infection (UTI), Signs of polycystic ovaries syndrome (PCOS)
Our approach
At The Women’s Health Clinic, we offer an hours consultation with a specialist nurse to cover areas of female health. You will also be given the opportunity to have an in-depth conversation with your nurse with any questions or concerns you may have. This review plays an important role in healthcare management. Our well woman packages can offer extensive overview of your health. If any imbalances, deficiencies or concerns are pinpointed, we can signpost you to a female gynaecologist to explore your options. In addition to this, The Women’s Health Clinic takes a more holistic approach where we encourage our patients to discuss any issues in a relaxed and open environment.
Who are we?
Here at The Women’s Health Clinic we believe every woman deserves the time to not only talk about her symptoms and understand why it’s happening but also take the time to explore all available options.
Why choose TWHC?
Due to longer life expectancy, women are now spending a third of their lifespan postmenopausal and so managing the menopause is becoming an increasing part of women’s health. With the NHS at crisis point and GP’s increasing overstretched, a 7-10 minute appointment is not enough to thoroughly discuss the many symptoms you many be experiencing due to the menopause, and how they impact on your day to day life and relationships. At TWHC, you will have the opportunity to speak to a specialist nurse for up to 45 minutes.
What can I expect?
Our objective is to give woman the opportunity to take charge of their health and bodies. No one should sit in silence if they are worried about any symptoms or changes. Our Well Woman Check gives patients a chance to sit down with a specialist nurse to go through extensive checks and diagnostics.
You can decide to choose between our essential or advanced package. Any diagnostics will take 5-7 working days for results to arrive. Our nurse will call you to discuss them in greater detail and explore any necessary steps needed.

Well Woman Check – Blood Test (pathway 2)
Empower Your Health with Confidence
Take control of your wellbeing with our best-selling Well Woman blood test—designed specifically for women at any stage of life. Whether you’re experiencing symptoms, investigating health concerns, or simply taking a proactive approach, this comprehensive check offers valuable insights into your body’s key health markers.
- Vitamin D – to assess for deficiency, which can contribute to fatigue, low mood, and bone health concerns.
- Ferritin – a marker of iron stores in the body; low levels can cause fatigue, hair thinning, and poor concentration.
- Thyroid screen (TSH, T4) – to check thyroid function, as an underactive or overactive thyroid can mimic menopausal symptoms.
- Estradiol (E2) – your main form of oestrogen; low levels are associated with perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
- LH (Luteinising Hormone) – helps indicate where you are in your menstrual cycle and can support a diagnosis of menopause.
- FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) – typically rises as you approach menopause and is used to assess ovarian reserve.
- AMH (Anti-Müllerian Hormone) – provides insight into your remaining egg supply and ovarian function, especially useful if under 40.
- Progesterone – measured to assess whether you are ovulating, usually taken at a specific point in your cycle.
- Vitamin B12 – low levels can affect mood, energy, memory, and nerve function.
- Testosterone – an important female hormone that may affect libido, energy, mood, and muscle strength.
It is important that these tests are done between day 2–5 of your cycle, ideally in the morning.
These results will help guide your treatment plan and ensure we’re addressing the full picture of your health.
Pre menopause Consultation Blood Tests (Pathway 4)
Personalised Support for Your Menopause Journey
Your symptoms are consistent with perimenopause or menopause, and it sounds like you would truly benefit from a dedicated menopause consultation with one of our specialist nurses.
Since you are already using Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), it’s important that we assess how well your body is absorbing the treatment and whether your current dose is optimal for symptom relief and long-term health. To ensure we tailor your care effectively, we recommend having a blood test prior to your consultation. This test will help us evaluate your hormone levels and guide any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.
What’s Next?
- ✅ Step 1: Book your blood test
- ✅ Step 2: Attend your menopause consultation with results in hand
- ✅ Step 3: Receive expert advice and a personalised care plan
Your wellbeing matters—let’s work together to make this stage of life more manageable and balanced.
The blood test will include:
- Vitamin D – to assess for deficiency, which can contribute to fatigue, low mood, and bone health concerns.
- Ferritin – a marker of iron stores in the body; low levels can cause fatigue, hair thinning, and poor concentration.
- Thyroid screen (TSH, T4) – to check thyroid function, as an underactive or overactive thyroid can mimic menopausal symptoms.
- Estradiol (E2) – your main form of oestrogen; low levels are associated with perimenopause and menopause symptoms.
- Vitamin B12 – low levels can affect mood, energy, memory, and nerve function.
- Testosterone – an important female hormone that may affect libido, energy, mood, and muscle strength.
General Blood Test (Pathway 5)
Feeling Unwell or Fatigued? We Can Help Identify the Cause
If you’re feeling generally unwell, tired, or lacking in energy, our General Blood Test Panel is designed to help uncover potential underlying issues. This test is ideal for ruling out common deficiencies or imbalances that may be contributing to your symptoms.
Tests Included:
- Vitamin D – to assess for deficiency, which may cause fatigue, low mood, muscle weakness, and affect bone health.
- Ferritin (Iron Stores) – measures your body’s iron levels. Low ferritin can lead to fatigue, hair thinning, poor concentration, and breathlessness.
- Thyroid Function (TSH & T4) – evaluates how well your thyroid is working. Both underactive and overactive thyroid issues can mimic menopause or cause similar symptoms like mood swings, weight changes, and fatigue.
- Vitamin B12 – checks for deficiency, which can impact memory, energy levels, mood, and nerve function.
