How to distinguish normal healing from complications after laser?

Normal healing includes mild redness, swelling, a light watery or pink discharge, and a “sunburn” sensation for a few days. Complications may include heavy bleeding, severe pain, pus, foul-smelling discharge, or fever—seek medical advice if these occur.

Clinical Context

Follow your clinic’s aftercare instructions and monitor symptoms. Most side effects resolve quickly; complications are rare but should be assessed promptly.

Evidence-Based Approaches

NICE and RCOG provide clear aftercare advice for laser procedures. Seek review if you are worried about any aspect of recovery. See BNF Menopause and NICE guidance.
